The feel good spam

It’s been a while since I haven’t blogged and although I might find a dozen cheesy excuses (it was Christmas time, I am so overworked, my sex life is incredibly busy) the real reason is much more embarrassing: the amount of spam I get on my WordPress blog is a powerful deterrent for regular visits and I have been too lazy to tackle the issue seriously.

But then, if I had addressed this issue for which I am sure my readers and friends will give me great advice (what was the name of that magical plugin again that will solve all my spam problems? ), I would have missed out on some of the most amazing compliments I have ever received in my entire life.

I already knew that I had a « fantastic » and « cool » blog. But I discovered thanks to spam that my blog was also a « master peace » and that people just adore my « typing style ».

The two comments that however brought tears to my eyes are in French, well pretend to be in French, so if you’ll excuse my French, this is what they’re all about:

  Since you have wordpress, have you tried connecting it to akismet? it’s a pretty good tool for tackling spam

    Actually I thought Akismet was installed by default on WP but now I realise installed doesn’t mean enabled! Will take care of that, crossing fingers it will take out all the spam except the one with the lovely compliments

      yep, you have to get a key for using it, from wordpress.com
